Centre Host (Part-Time)
Café • Customer Welcome • Front of House
Be the friendly face of Cairngorms Activities. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the clubhouse — welcoming customers, running the café, and keeping everything running smoothly.
You’ll be the first person people meet when they arrive and the last impression they leave with. If you enjoy working with people, staying busy, and taking pride in a clean, well-run space, this is a great role to step into.
A key role in the customer experience
Cairngorms Activities delivers outdoor experiences, family adventures and group bookings in a unique Highland setting.
While instructors are out running activities, everything starts and finishes at the clubhouse. That’s where you come in.
You’ll be welcoming guests, helping them get organised for their activity, serving café customers, and keeping the space running smoothly throughout the day.
This role suits someone who is friendly, practical, reliable and enjoys being around people.
It’s not about complicated systems, it’s about creating a simple, positive experience that makes people want to come back.
What you’ll be doing
This is a varied front-of-house role with a mix of customer interaction, café service and general upkeep.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day front-of-house experience during your shift.
Welcoming Customers
Greet every visitor arriving at the clubhouse, check bookings, explain what happens next and make sure people feel comfortable and ready for their activity.
Handle walk-in enquiries, answer the phone, and help customers with simple bookings or questions. In quieter times you'll also help with online enquiries and dealing with emails.
Running the Café
Serve coffee, drinks and light food to a consistent, friendly standard. Keep things simple, efficient and enjoyable for customers.
Keep the café clean, stocked and running smoothly. Manage basic stock levels and record transactions accurately.
Keeping the Clubhouse Spot On
Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming environment throughout your shift. This includes the café, seating areas and toilets.
Report any issues quickly and help keep the space ready for customers at all times.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, friendly and takes pride in doing things properly.
You should be comfortable speaking to customers, able to stay calm when it’s busy, and happy working independently for most of your shift.
You don’t need lots of experience, but you do need the right attitude — practical, positive and willing to get stuck in.
This role suits someone who enjoys a mix of customer service and hands-on work, and who notices the small details that make a place feel welcoming.
Working Pattern:
Part-time (~3 days per week)
Includes weekend work on a rota
Reports to Head of Centre
Rate of Pay: Up to £13 per hour (subject to age and experience)
Where you'll be based
The clubhouse is based on-site at Cairngorms Activities at Craggan Golf Course, just outside Grantown-on-Spey. It’s an easy-to-reach location in a great outdoor setting.
Reliable transport is recommended due to the rural location.
Enjoy working with people and staying busy?
If you like being hands-on, take pride in a well-run space, and enjoy making people feel welcome, this is a great role to step into.
We’re looking for someone reliable, positive and ready to take ownership of the clubhouse experience.
