Your Adventure, Your Way

In autumn and winter we run a reduced programme in the Cairngorms, so you’ll see fewer ready-made sessions on our calendar. Even in busier months, not every time slot or activity makes it online. But that doesn’t mean the adventures stop.

If you’ve got a small group (around 6 or more people) or a specific date in mind, it’s always worth filling in the form. Tell us what you’re after and we’ll look at adding a session to suit – on the rivers, lochs, hills or mountains.

You can keep it just for your group, or we can open it up so others can join to help keep costs down. Either way, you get Cairngorms Activities on your schedule.

Pick a Date & Tell Us What You’d Like

If you can’t find the right session online, use the form to tell us what you’d like and when. All we need is:

  • Group size: We usually need a minimum of 6 people to create a new session.
  • Activity choice: Paddle to the Pub, canoeing, archery, bushcraft and more.
  • Reason for celebrating: Birthday, team day, family gathering – or just because you fancy some adventure!

Once we have your details, we’ll check guide availability and let you know what we can do.

Private Adventure or Open to Others

When you request a new session, you choose how it runs:

  • Private session: Keep it just for your group, with your own guide and equipment.
  • Open session: We’ll list it on our calendar so other like-minded adventurers can join in too – helping you keep the price lower while meeting new people.

This works brilliantly if you can’t see a suitable open session on the calendar but you’re happy for others to join you.

Adventures When the Calendar Looks Quiet

In autumn and winter, or on quieter midweek days, the Cairngorms are something special – crisp air, peaceful trails and dramatic views. We make it comfortable and memorable.

  • Quieter places: Fewer crowds and more space to yourselves on rivers, lochs and hill paths.
  • Big scenery: Autumn colours, frosty mornings and snow-dusted peaks.
  • Warm & prepared: We provide warmer kit and hot drinks during activities.
  • Flexible plans: Routes tailored to weather and ability, with safety-first decisions.
  • More coaching time: Smaller groups mean extra attention from your guide.

Create Your Own Adventure

Can’t see the session you want on the calendar – especially in autumn and winter, or if you’re planning for 6 or more people? Share your group size, activity choice and whether you’d like a private session or one that’s open to others. Fill in the form and we’ll take it from there.

"Best way to step out of your comfort zone"

We were a group of 6, middle-aged, all varying degrees of fitness. Slightly apprehensive and nervous at first, the guides (Anna and Jan) soon put us at ease and made it fun, even when it got cold. Appreciate the humour and the help and encouragement along the way as needed. Do not hesitate to book this tour, it is awesome! Anyone can participate, of all ages.

"Gorge walking experience, fantastic!"

The guides made the day for us. Big thumbs up! There were 6 of us between the ages of 37 and 50 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It was exhilarating and one of the top 10 highlights of my life.

"Wonderful experience"

We had a 4-day canoe trip down the Spey for a friend's 60th, couldn't fault in any way. Our guide Dan was patient, friendly and safety conscious for our group of varying experiences, including complete novices. Brilliant experience, wonderful countryside, plenty of wildlife, well organised and good food. I think we all felt we had overcome a few challenges, become more competent and above all had a great time. Thanks to Keith, Dan and the team.
